What is Palio?
Palio is an ACL recovery app for iPhone. In the early weeks it tracks your rehab routine, knee bend, pain and swelling. In the gym phase it logs every exercise per leg, so you can see your surgery leg catch up to your healthy one. Everything lives in one place, ready for your next physio appointment.

THE WHOLE RECOVERY, IN ONE APP
Every phase, from the first week to the gym.
-
EARLY PHASE
Check in on your knee in seconds.
Morning and evening, tap your pain, swelling and how you feel. After a few days you can see patterns you'd never notice day to day.
-
EARLY PHASE
Your rehab routine, with a guide for each exercise.
Save the exercises your physio gave you, tick them off each day and follow an illustrated guide when you forget how one goes.
-
EARLY PHASE
Measure your knee bend with your phone.
Place your phone on your thigh, then your shin, for a guided estimate. Or type in the reading from your physio's goniometer.
-
EARLY PHASE
Watch your range of motion come back.
Every flexion and extension reading on one chart, so a bad day reads as one dot, not the whole story.
-
GYM PHASE
Compare your surgery leg to your healthy leg.
Log each leg separately and Palio shows the symmetry for every exercise. It's one measurement, not a green light. Your physio makes that call.
-
GYM PHASE
See your surgery leg get stronger.
Weight, reps and sets per leg turn into a strength trend with personal records, logged in a few taps between sets.
-
ASK PALIO
Ask about your own recovery.
Ask how your swelling or knee bend is trending and get an answer grounded in your log. Optional, only with your permission, and it informs rather than prescribes.
WHEREVER YOU ARE RIGHT NOW
Start on the day you're on.
Palio asks where you are and sets up the right screens for it. You move to the next phase when you and your physio are ready.
Before surgery
Set your surgery date and start logging your prehab.
Early phase
Daily rehab, knee bend, pain and swelling check-ins.
Gym phase
Strength per leg, symmetry and your weekly consistency.
Your sport
Your goal sits at the end of the path the whole way.
TRY IT
How close is your surgery leg?
Drag the sliders to your last set on each leg. Palio does this for every exercise, automatically.
Uses weight only for simplicity. Palio uses estimated 1-rep max, so reps count too. Symmetry is one measurement, not a return-to-sport decision.
WHY PALIO EXISTS
I built the app I needed during my own ACL recovery.
I tore my ACL, had surgery, and then re-injured my knee halfway through recovery. The whole way, my progress lived in my phone's notes app: knee angles, weights, how it felt that day. I still had no real idea whether my surgery leg was catching up.
Two years post-op, Palio is what I wish I'd had. It's for the long, boring, important middle of ACL recovery, the part nobody posts about.

QUESTIONS
Before you start.
What is Palio?
Palio is an ACL recovery app for iPhone. It tracks your rehab routine, knee bend, pain and swelling in the early weeks, then your strength per leg in the gym, so you can see your whole recovery in one place and share it with your physio.
Who made Palio?
Palio was built by its founder, an ACL patient who is 2 years post-op, re-injured the same knee mid-recovery and tracked everything in a phone notes app. Palio is the app the founder wanted during that recovery.
Does Palio replace my physio?
No. Palio records and organises your recovery. Your surgeon or physio decides your exercises, restrictions and when you return to sport. Palio does not diagnose, prescribe or clear you for sport.
How much does Palio cost?
Palio starts with a 7-day free trial. After that, Palio Pro is $6.99 a month or $44.99 a year, or $79.99 once for lifetime access (US prices; the app shows the price in your currency). You can cancel any time in your Apple ID settings.
What is leg symmetry (LSI) after ACL surgery?
Symmetry, or the limb symmetry index (LSI), compares your surgery leg to your healthy leg: surgery leg divided by healthy leg, times 100. It is one measurement clinicians use, not a return-to-sport decision on its own. Try the LSI calculator ↗
How does Palio measure knee bend?
You can type in a reading from your physio or goniometer, or use a guided measurement that places your phone on your thigh and shin. Phone readings are estimates, so keep your position consistent and the trend stays meaningful.
Is my recovery data private?
Your recovery photos stay on your phone. Your logs sync with your account so you don't lose them, Ask Palio only uses your data if you allow it, and you can delete your account and data from inside the app. Privacy policy ↗
Is Palio on Android?
Not yet. Palio is available on iPhone (and runs on iPad) from the App Store.
